Smoking is still the largest single cause of avoidable illness and early death in the UK. Stopping is hard — most people take several attempts — but with the right support and the right products, your chances roughly double. Our trained stop-smoking advisers will build a plan around you and stay with you through it.
Who it is for
Anyone who wants to stop. Eligibility for the NHS-funded programme depends on where you live; if you are not covered, we offer the same support privately. The pharmacist will confirm which applies when you book.
How the programme works
We are an NHS distance selling pharmacy, so your consultations are by phone or video rather than in a consultation room. That suits this service well — it is a series of short conversations over several weeks, and most people find it easier to keep to when it does not mean a journey.
- A first consultation to understand how much you smoke, when, and what has happened on previous attempts. Your adviser draws up a personal quit plan.
- Nicotine replacement — patches, gum, lozenges, inhalators or sprays — chosen to suit you and delivered to your door.
- Regular check-ins, weekly or fortnightly, for six to twelve weeks. The plan is adjusted as you go.
What it costs
The support itself is free. On the NHS programme, nicotine replacement products are supplied on prescription — free if you are exempt from prescription charges, otherwise the standard charge applies. Privately, you pay for the products at our normal prices.
