Order online or in the app with your name, date of birth and the medicines you take. First time? Nominate us as your pharmacy at the same time.
We contact your GP
Your surgery approves the prescription and sends it to us electronically. Nothing to print, post or collect.
Dispensed and delivered, free
A pharmacist checks and dispenses it, and it arrives at your door — usually within two to three working days of the prescription reaching us.

The NHS Electronic Prescription Service sends your prescriptions to the pharmacy you have nominated. Nominate Doorstep Pharmacy and your GP's prescriptions arrive here automatically — no paper, no chasing — and we dispense and deliver them. You can change your nomination at any time.
Three ways to nominate us
- When you first order — tick the box and we ask your surgery for you.
- In the NHS App — Prescriptions → Your nominated pharmacy → search for Doorstep Pharmacy, Harrow.
- Ask your GP surgery — tell reception you would like Doorstep Pharmacy as your nominated pharmacy.
Good to know
Is there a charge?
Delivery is free and there is no charge for the service. If you pay for NHS prescriptions, the usual NHS charge per item still applies — we collect it when your order is confirmed. Prescription prepayment certificates and exemptions work exactly as they would at any pharmacy.
How long does it take?
Allow a little longer for your first order while your surgery sets up the nomination — a week is typical. After that, a repeat usually arrives within two to three working days of your GP approving it. Order when you have about a week’s supply left.
Do I have to live near Harrow?
No. We deliver across England. Your GP surgery can be anywhere; the prescription reaches us electronically through the NHS.
What if my GP has not approved it yet?
We chase the surgery for you and keep you updated by email or in the app. If something is refused or changed, we will tell you why and what to do next.
Can you deliver to someone else — a parent, say?
Yes. Set up the order in their name with their details, and the delivery address can be theirs or yours. Many people manage a relative’s repeats this way.
Do you offer repeat dispensing?
Yes. If your GP sets up electronic repeat dispensing (eRD), they authorise a batch of repeats — up to a year — and each one comes to us automatically when it is due, without you having to reorder. Ask us or your surgery about it.
What about controlled drugs or fridge items?
We dispense and deliver them with the extra checks and packaging they need. Some deliveries will need a signature.
Can I still get advice?
Of course. A pharmacist reviews every prescription, and you can message us in the app or call the pharmacy on 0208 869 1200 with any question about your medicines.
Run out and cannot wait? Do not rely on a delivery for something urgent. Contact your GP surgery, or call NHS 111 — they can arrange an emergency supply.
